I’m sure everyone here is just as excited as I am for the impending release of Super Mario Galaxy 2. So, I’ve decided to vector trace Mario from the cover of Mario Galaxy and make them into minimalist wallpapers. I even refrained from putting the Infendo watermark on them (It would ruin the beautiful simplicity.) Enjoy!

VGChartz has updated their gallery with 25 exciting, (albeit, compressed and fuzzy,) screenshots of the much anticipated Super Mario Galaxy 2. As this screenshot confirms, this will be the first 3D Mario game where you can take Yoshi on the water! Sweetness.

ONM, the Official Nintendo Magazine, got their hands on a piece of artwork for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy 2. While it’s just Mario walking up clouds, like some clown on stairs, it’s pretty unique for a Mario power up. While not much is known about this image or how it will work in Galaxy 2, it does look pretty comical and light hearted.
Who’s excited for “Cloud” Mario in Super Mario Galaxy 2? Do you guys have any thoughts on what this power up will do?

White DSi comes with Bowser’s Inside Story |

If you haven’t picked up a DSi, and or Mario and Luigi; this might be the perfect time too. Especially if you don’t want to lug around the the bulky and bigger DSi XL. Starting April 25, a white versions of the Nintendo DSi will be sold at certain stores for the price of $169.99.
While most of you probably have a DS/DSlite and are on the fence about upgrading to a DSi; let me just say, Bowser’s Inside Story is one of the better Mario and Luigi game titles out there. It seems like a pretty good bundle for a limited edition color as well.
Yet, seriously, how many of you guys are going to wait for the Nintendo 3ds? Do you think Nintendo shot themselves in the foot for announcing it way earlier than they should have?

Last month, Nintendo released the new DSi XL. So, of course, now it’s time to promote … the original DSi, with a new spring bundle! On April 25, Nintendo will release a bundle containing a white DSi and a copy of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, at a $169.99 price point — which is what the DSi costs by itself. Infendo Art Challenge #2: Super Mario Galaxy Edition

With the first ever Infendo Art Challenge coming to a close soon (April 19th will be the last day for submitting your art), I’m excited to announce next month’s theme: Super Mario Galaxy! Show off your mad skills in the Infendo Forums, and we’ll show off your work to the world on the front page. This one begins immediately and extends to the end of May (in order to get us on an actual monthly routine). The rules are simple: draw, paint, or create something to do with Super Mario Galaxy, post it to the forums, and interact with fellow Infendorks about each other’s artwork.
For those of you who missed this month’s challenge, there’s still time to get your Pokemon-themed picture into the thread before the 19th. At that point, we’ll be voting who is the best, and that person will get special acknowledgement when we show off everyone’s work.

Why the Original NES Ice Hockey Needs a WiiWare Update |

Maybe it’s because I’m turning into an old man, or maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, but one of my favorite sports games is still the original NES Ice Hockey. Like so many of Nintendo’s other games, Ice Hockey relies on accessible, yet addictive gameplay with a level of depth that keeps the game fun even more than twenty years later. Oh, and the fat players are adorable.
I propose that it is time to give this cherished classic the WiiWare update treatment that has been granted to other old-school games like Dr. Mario, Contra and Excitebike. There seem to be a lot of these updates these days, so someone besides me must be buying them.
Here’s my case:
Ice Hockey lends itself well to online play, perhaps with 4 or more players at a time. Mario Strikers style online play would be great, where you can mix local and online play to [...]

Nintendo of Europe released its summer lineup today, featuring dates we mostly know — Super Mario Galaxy 2 on June 11 — or aren’t terribly concerned with — Repetto Presents Ballerina in May. Metroid: Other M is still undated, having been slated for Q3, and therefore out of the bounds of the new listing.
However, there are a few welcome surprises, most notably: Jam with the Band. Originally released way back in 2004 as Daigasso! Band Bros., this rhythm game disappeared from Nintendo’s launch lineup elsewhere, never making it to the West until now. We don’t know why Nintendo decided to revive it now – or if it’s the first game or the sequel (both covers pictured above) — but it’s scheduled for release in Europe on May 21! Samurai Warriors 3 for Wii has been dated for May 28, as well.
