RUMOR: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 NOT Coming to WiiWare? |

WiiWare was mysteriously absent from the game announcement.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 may skip WiiWare when it releases, the latest announcement possibly revealed.
In an interview with Gamespot, Digital Brand Manager Ken Balough presented the new teaser trailer as well as details regarding the upcoming game. Episode 2 introduces Tails as a playable character as well as the return of Metal Sonic as the game’s antagonist. In the interview, it was mentioned that the game would be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but no mention of WiiWare or any other platform was made.

NEWS: Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge Confirmed as Wii U Launch Title |

Hayabusa-san’s bloody journey continues on Nintendo’s latest console.
Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge has been confirmed as a launch title for the upcoming Wii U, based on Tecmo’s marketing material.
In an earnings presentation, Tecmo Koei presented their plans for their upcoming releases. They explained their worldwide plans, which include handling systems based on regions. In a slide, they show future titles, which confirms Ninja Gaiden 3 as a launch title for the Wii U.
The presentation also confirms sales numbers for one of their first 3DS titles, Dead or Alive Dimensions. Worldwide, the game sold 310,000 units.

Spider-Man has a checkered video game history. However, since he’s been under the care of Activision, games featuring the web-slinger have generally been okay, with Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows being highlights. After solid contributions from Neversoft, Vicarious Visions, and the late, great Shaba Games, Activision has placed the franchise in the hands of Beenox, who unexpectedly made a great game in last year’s Shattered Dimensions.
Beenox’s second game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time (3DS version reviewed, which is a port of the Wii version, which is a port of the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version), takes all of the good things about the developer’s web-slinging debut and throws them out the window. I’m a huge fan of Spider-Man, and try to give each of his games at least one try. Recently, these games have not disappointed. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions had its flaws, but was a fun game overall. This October, Spider-Man is returning to Wii in an all-new adventure.
Brought to us by Beenox, Spider-Man: Edge of Time lets players play as both the Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 characters in an effort to help correct a timestream that goes out of whack when Peter Parker dies before his time.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 will not be localized.
In a recent Capcom Q&A video, Christian Svensson was asked “Is Ace Attorney coming to the US?” His answer was, “I assume that means Ace Attorney Investigations 2. The answer is ‘no.’ Sorry about that.” After several days of distraught fans posting on the Ask Capcom forum thread asking for more details, he elaborated on his earlier comment.
“The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And
no, it wouldn’t sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more
than the first Investigations). Could this content show up on
some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there’s
nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who
would like to have this and I’ll be sure to explore ways that could
happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no
promises.”

Spider-Man: Edge of Time preview: Timeline teamwork |

The hook of Spider-Man: Edge of Time, the next Spidey game from Shattered Dimensions developer Beenox, is that two heroes must work together to change the future. As Peter Parker dashes through a corridor, a pop-up picture at the bottom of the screen shows a troubling situation developing in the world of Miguel O’Hara (also known as Spider-Man 2099).
Spider-Man 2099 is being man-handled by an enormous robot, which prompts Parker to trash the robotics lab of Alchemax, the city-sized mega corporation in which the entirety of the game takes place. Classic Spider-Man hopes that some aggressive vandalism, early in the timeline, will undo the 2099 predicament.

Beenox returns to the character to make a time-traveling game starring Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099.
Spider-Man 2099 will return to gaming this fall with Activision and Beenox’s next Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time.
Starring the future Spider-Man and the classic Amazing Spider-Man, players go between two different timelines, affecting the outcome of the future Spider-Man while trying to prevent the death of Peter Parker. Beenox and Peter David, co-creator of Spider-Man 2099, are both returning to work on the game.
No platforms were mentioned, though it is likely the game will be on Wii and one of Nintendo’s portables.

The NPD has taken several hits, mostly during investment calls and meetings we’ve attended over the past year, about its lack of digital distribution sales reporting. This week’s quote from EA that the company’s data is a “misrepresentation of the entire industry” really pushed the conversation into the public.
In response, the NPD reiterated its plans to include monthly digital sales data in its reporting to clients, something the company originally said it was working on in October 2010.
“We continue to progress those plans but at this time we’re not changing anything with regard to what we’re reporting,” NPD analyst Anita Frazier explained to us today. “Until we have something new to announce in terms of our reporting, we will continue to report on new physical retail sales on a monthly basis. Edgeworth investigates the top of Japan’s sales chart |

The weekly Media Create rankings make a strong case for the continued existence of the Ace Attorney Investigations series. In its first week of release in Japan, the sequel topped the chart with 132,266 copies sold. It’s not quite the start the first Investigations got — it sold 172,000 copies in its first week back in 2009 — but it’s still first place.
Overall, it was a strong week for new games, and for handheld games. The top four games are all DS or PSP titles, and all came out on the same day, February 3: Macross Triangle Frontier (PSP), White Knight Chronicles: Dogma Wars (PSP) and Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden (DS).
